Kale Wilk is a freelance multimedia journalist based in northwest Indiana, an area simply dubbed "The Region." His former digital producer position at the Times of Northwest Indiana and continuing freelance work with the newspaper takes him around Indiana's three northernmost counties, Chicago and its southwest Illinois suburbs.

Kale brings a thoughtful, creative aesthetic to his work, whether its in his visuals, soundbites or articles. His experience ranges from covering sports to interviewing community leaders and politicians. He seeks out the important stories in different communities in order to paint the most accurate picture of people's lives, struggles and dreams.

Kale’s work has also made appearances with the Associated Press, 60 Minutes, the New York Times, and NBC Chicago.

Kale grew up in Schererville, a town in the Region, and earned a journalism degree from Indiana University. He continues to lives in his hometown.
